4:30

Acclaimed Singaporean filmmaker Royston Tan (15: THE MOVIE) interweaves the lives of two seemingly disparate lonely souls in the subtle drama, 04:30.

Xiao Wu is only eleven but he leads a virtually self-reliant existence with his mother often away on business. Jung is a thirty-something Korean tenant in Xiao's building, depressed and aimless, he takes comfort in alcohol. Xiao's kleptomaniac tendencies lead him to sneak into Jung's room, and steal from him as he lies in a drunken comatose. His visitations become routine, as the boy keeps a journal about his neighbour, spying on him every morning at 4:30. The pairs' strange friendship is built on a shared fondness for solitude, but in finding each other and facing some painful truths, is solitude as gratifying as they once thought?
